Whole-Home Remodeling in Sierra Madre
Serving 91024 and Arcadia, Pasadena, Bradbury
Taking on an entire house in Sierra Madre is a conservation project as much as a remodel. A hundred-year-old bungalow has usually been altered several times by owners with more enthusiasm than drawings, and a full pass is the chance to separate what is original and worth keeping from what was added and is merely in the way. Done properly, the house ends up with modern systems, a plan that suits a current household, and more of its own character than it had before the work started.
Real projects. Real prices.
73 finished remodels published with their final price — nothing hidden.
What 17 finished LA whole-home remodels actually cost: a median of $150k, in a range of $36k–$440k. Real final prices from our own job records, not estimates.
$150,000 A cobalt glass-tile backsplash with marble-look slab baths in brushed brass.
$237,000 Deep green tile floor-to-ceiling, a farmhouse sink, living space open to the patio.
$242,700 Structural work to open up the space, a vaulted ceiling, solid wood floors, kitchen and two baths.
$250,000 White shaker cabinetry and veined quartz, with hex-mosaic walk-in showers.
$279,000 White shaker cabinetry, granite counters, and a tan subway tile backsplash.
$440,000 Stone-look tile bathrooms with freestanding tubs, under an exposed beam ceiling.
A whole bungalow, honestly renewed
Telling the original house from its additions
Framing changes, floor levels, window types and roof lines all record where the house grew. Reading that history at survey stage tells you which walls are structural, which additions are worth keeping, and where the original plan is still recoverable underneath later work.
A century of systems, replaced once
Early electrical, original waste lines and heating added decades after the house was built all reach the end of the road together. A whole-house scope replaces them as one coordinated exercise, which is the only economical way to do it in lath-and-plaster construction.
Adding at the back, not at the front
Where more space is genuinely needed, the rear of these lots is almost always the right place for it. Keeping the street elevation as the town knows it, and putting the new work where it cannot dominate, is both good manners and the smoothest path through review.
Review in a town that watches its houses
The city reviews building inside a department named for community preservation, and the neighbours pay attention too. Whole-house drawings that show respect for era, scale and street presence are read in that spirit; drawings that ignore them meet friction from every direction.
